I purchased these as a novelty to go with one or two locomotives of the same era. They are incredibly small and a reminder of how the railways started. Despite their tiny size, they have plenty of weight and run smoothly. I realise that there is a certain amount of guesswork with details, livery etc but I wasn't there in 1825, so I'm happy that these are a great representation of wagons of the era and make for a characterful train.

This is the model that started it all for me. I'm reviewing it some considerable time after purchasing and this was my very first Accurascale purchase. At that time it felt like a leap of faith to make pre-order from a manufacturer I'd never heard of. When the model arrived, I loved the massive yellow box (a bit hard to hide!) which gives excellent protection. The model was a very significant step up from my existing class 37s in terms of detail, livery quality, weight, sound and smoothness of performance. In addition to that, the underfloor equipment is modelled on this unique class 97 variant, which was the reason why I purchased this version. As a result, I became a happy repeat customer.

The class 31 was not the sleekest design of the BR modernisation plan but there's something endearing about them. Enter the Accurascale model with beautifully captured details and brilliant sound. The Network Rail yellow livery is very plain in terms of colours but also very bright so your attention is drawn even more to the crisp details of this model. What makes this version of the class 31 unique is the UV lights on the front which were used as part of the structure gauging train and, of course, they can be switched on or off as required via digital control. The model lives up to the usual Accurascale expectations in terms of detail, livery, sound and performance with the added novelty of those lights. Putting together a structure gauging train is a bit more of a challenge but, until I have assembled one, Rule 1 happily applies.

An exclusive Accurascale model I didn’t think I needed.

Yet I found myself gutted I’d missed the opportunity to get on. The they came back into stock and I was able to purchase at an amazing price, using Accurascale’s reward scheme.

I wasn’t disappointed in this model and really please I’d brought one, now to take advantage of a sound bundle to really bring it to life.

The detail is perfect and the model is bursting with features. The livery is crisp and captures the real loco just right.

I have been after a loco cradle for ages, and thought I’d give this one a go after using the PECO foam holder for years.

Well what an item, I thoroughly recommend this. It offers a sturdy platform and holds the locos at just the right angle for multiple tasks.

Even if you don’t think you need one as you’ve got the PECO one, this is on another level and well worth the price.

Where to start… well I think it’s important to say that I have brought all of Accurascale Class 60s, hopefully that says what I think of these models and willing to put my money where my mouth is.

The detailing is top notch and I can’t find an issue with it. The colour is perfect and matches in with other livery models I have. No issues at all with any parts staying where they should.

I initially hadn’t ordered this one and was disappointed I hadn’t. When it came back in stock it was a must. Thankfully Accurascale options of adding sound after with one of their bundles was perfect in bringing this model to life.

If you haven’t purchased a Class 60 yet, then go on treat yourself you won’t be disappointed

The quality of sound produced from these speakers are amazing.

The price is perfect and makes a sound upgrade within reach of all. I will be squeezing more of these speakers into other locomotives.

Cannot fault the sounds of this decoder and is well matched to the loco for gear changes and noises from the 'gearbox'...And so easy to fit. No faffing around taking most of the loco apart to fit... Just carefully lift off the bonnet, remove the blanking plug and replace with this decoder, speakers onboard and stay alive.. perfect.
Although it did take two attempts to send the decoder with the correct sound profiles.. But the end result turned out OK
